The National Liberal Club is the international home of Liberalism. Since 1882, we have championed the principles of freedom, equality of life-chances, and the advancement of Liberal values.
We are proud to uphold this tradition and strive to remain a beacon of Liberalism around the world.
Our Political
Membership
The National Liberal Club is one of the few private members’ clubs to have a separate Political Membership category. Becoming a Political Member gives you the right to vote on matters that informs the direction of the Club and ensures the Liberal ethos continues in the future. You don’t need to be a member of any political party to become a Political Member; all we ask is that you are generally “Liberal in your politics”.
Liberal Events
Each year we run a range of distinctively Liberal events. These include talks, book launches, debates, historical celebrations, large gatherings and socials.

The NLC Library
The National Liberal Club is home to London’s only specialist library on Liberal history, politics, biography and philosophy, including books, pamphlets and theses on the British Liberal tradition. Our Members are able to access this library to explore our liberal materials where they can have a quiet place to read and work.
Liberal
International
We are proud to host the headquarters of Liberal International. Liberal International is the world federation of liberal and progressive democratic political parties. They are committed to building and safeguarding free, fair and open societies, with a balance of the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one is enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.
We host events and talks with Liberal International as well as seeking their support in building links with Liberal Parties around the world.
