The Business of Running Amateur Choirs with Stephen Hall OBE

The guest speaker for this  month’s NLC Business Forum event is the Musical Director for not one but two amateur choirs. Stephen Hall OBE runs both the large-scale Civil Service Choir – in his day job he leads the statistics team for DEFRA – and the smaller but still potent Lantern Arts Community Choir, based in Raynes Park in SW London.

What’s involved in running amateur choirs? What challenges does Stephen face and how does he juggle the day job with these additional responsibilities, which he does for love? Stephen will answer these questions and more in his talk which will include brief extracts of musical performances from both choirs.
