Political & Economic Circle – Black History Month Debate
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
To mark Black History Month the NLC Political & Economic Circle has programmed an important debate which welcomes two eminent guest speakers, Baroness Lola Young of Hornsey, OBE and Yasmin Alibhai-Brown to discuss ‘What Black History Month means for me and us!’.
Both panellists are multi-talented and highly respected in their specialist fields – Baroness Lola Young of Hornsey, is a British actress, author, Crossbench Peer and Chancellor of the University of Nottingham. Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, a British author, journalist and opinion former, well-known for speaking on immigration, diversity, and multiculturalism issues.
This evening session will be a hybrid event, both online via Zoom and to a limited audience enjoying it live at the Club. An introduction will be made by Inderjeet Singh Nijhar, Chair of the P&E Circle, with an interactive Q&A session following the main debate. A concluding vote of thanks will be given by NLC Chairman, Rupert Morris.
