NLC Lightning Chess Tournament -Back for 2022!!

A speed-chess tournament with moves played in time to a metronome!
NLC chess players of all strengths are warmly invited by the National Liberal Club Chess Circle to play in the fifth NLC Lightning Chess Tournament on Tuesday 19 April 2022. This will be a relaxed and enjoyable evening of lightning chess (in which moves are played alternately to a 10 second metronome buzzer). Each player will play five games over the course of the evening. The winner will have their name etched on the glittering Ming Vase. We hope to welcome both NLC members and chess playing members from other Clubs. Players of all abilities welcome.

The tournament will start at 7pm sharp, with players encouraged to meet at the bar at 6.30 for refreshments. We will be dining afterward (a special set menu will be on offer).
Entries can be taken on the night, but it would be helpful if prospective entrants would let Ben Widdicombe (bjwidds@googlemail.com) know they intend to play in order to get an idea of numbers which will in turn help with arrangements.
