Script: The Defence & Security Circle in collaboration with the Defence Women’s Network of the UK Ministry of Defence are pleased to host a free hybrid event entitled China: the challenger to the West. Our speaker, Meia Nouwens is Senior Fellow at the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies. The IISS is a world leading authority on global security, political risk and military conflict. Meia is a graduate of Macquarie, Leiden and Oxford Universities in international relations. She has also served at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Tehran and with the EU’s External Action Service in Taipei. Currently Meia is responsible at IISS for China Defence Policy and Military Modernisation.
